The VAR-SOM-MX8M-PLUS System on Module / Computer on Module is based on a 1.8GHz Quad Cortex™-A53 NXP’s iMX8M Plus processor with 800MHz Cortex™-M7 Real-time co-processor – a new generation of processors that combine integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) capabilities with advanced multimedia features.

The SoM includes a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), an intelligent vision system based on an Image Signal Processor (ISP) and dual camera inputs, as well as advanced multimedia and connectivity features such as H.265 HD video encode and decode engines, advanced 2D/3D GPU, voice processing, certified Wi-Fi 6 dual-band 802.11ax/ac/a/b/g/n with BT/BLE 5.4 and optional 802.15.4, dual GbE, dual USB3, dual CAN-FD, PCIe, up to 4K HDMI, dual LVDS, and DSI display output.

The VAR-SOM-MX8M-PLUS is a Pin2Pin platform compatible with the VAR-SOM Pin2Pin family, providing maximum scalability and leading edge capabilities; from the entry-level i.MX6UL/6ULL platform, through the i.MX 6 platforms, i.MX 8M Nano, i.MX 8M Mini, i.MX 8X, up to the i.MX 8QuadMax.
