Variscite has upgraded the Laird-based and Texas Instruments Bluetooth/Bluetooth Low Energy components of its NXP-based System on Module portfolio to the latest Bluetooth standard as part of the company’s commitment to ensuring its line of SoMs remain the benchmark of reliability, performance, and price in the industry.

Variscite’s Laird Connectivity Sterling LWB modules have been certified to Bluetooth version 5.1 and Sterling-LWB5 to Bluetooth 5.2. Texas Instruments components have been certified to Bluetooth 5.1 as well. The upgrades were applied across the Variscite i.MX SoM line, including the i.MX8, i.MX6 and i.MX7 families, as well as several legacy TI modules.
