Variscite Expands Manufacturing Capacity With the Launch of a New Production Line

Tuesday, 16 May 2023

We are pleased to announce the launch of an additional production line at our cutting-edge manufacturing facility and, as a result, the expansion of our manufacturing capacity. This strategic decision aims to continue to serve our valuable customers with industry-leading delivery times and further optimize the lead times to meet the steadily increasing demand of our extensive product portfolio. Furthermore, this expansion will support the expected additional demand for our two latest SoM solutions which offer a wide feature-set at an attractive price, the VAR-SOM-AM62 based on Texas Instruments’ Sitara AM62x and the VAR-SOM-MX93 based on NXP’s iMX93.

Ofer Austerlitz, our Vice President of Business Development and Sales, stated, “Even during challenging years due to a global pandemic and economic uncertainty, Variscite has added new production lines to help our customers meet their own product development timelines. This additional production line not only increases our current production capacity, it also allows us to remain flexible and robust in an uncertain market environment with a mission to best support our customers.”

Starting at a competitive price of $33, the VAR-SOM-AM62 presents an ideal solution for cost-sensitive embedded products that require low power consumption, high performance, and a graphic accelerator. The VAR-SOM-AM62 is powered by a 1.4 GHz Quad-core Cortex-A53 TI Sitara AM62x processor, accompanied by a 400 MHz Cortex-M4F and additional 333 MHz PRU real-time co-processors. This SoM offers a comprehensive range of connectivity options, including a camera interface, dual LVDS display, 3x CAN bus, certified dual-band Wi-Fi, BT/BLE 5.2, dual USB, and dual GbE.
